"Tents from the Inside" Event

During the holiday of Sukkot, we produced an exciting event called "Tents from Within," three days in which our friends from the Jahalin tribe opened their tents and hearts for hospitality in their charming Khan al-Ahmar.

Hundreds of families came to stay. The atmosphere was charming, only smiles were visible on faces. The children being hosted and the local children played together and connected in a natural way that only children know, the adults walked around the khan and stayed in tents comfortably, the women who cooked generously hosted everyone who came.

From our perspective, our joint action and that of our friends, the Jahalin, only strengthens the bond, the knowledge that there is a will and care and someone to trust. And from the perspective of the audience that came – it is uplifting to see how people who do not know, not the story of the Khan and certainly not the Jahalin, manage to connect, hear, understand and see that behind the big and sometimes threatening headlines, there are simply people who want to live their lives, like us and them.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who took part, to everyone who hosted, to everyone who was hosted. You are all part of an important and necessary bringing of hearts.
