Ramadan food distribution during the Corona period

At the height of the first wave of the coronavirus, the members of the Jahalin tribe found themselves closed and isolated. No one is leaving or coming in. The closure policy of the Palestinian Authority and Israel almost did not allow the tribe members to leave their residential area and shop. Thus, some of the tribe members, children and adults, found themselves unable to make a living, to the point of starvation. Gilly Sharon, a long-time activist among the Friends of the Jahalin, coordinated an entire process of recruiting many individuals, movements, companies and volunteers to help reduce the distress. Food products worth tens of thousands of shekels were purchased and mobilized through donations, centralized purchases, the transfer of food and vegetables from farmers and the Jerusalem Food Rescuers JLM organization, which volunteered to provide many tons of food. For about two months, the tribe's residents received basic food deliveries and fruits and vegetables. An activity that led to improved nutritional security for the children and some of the tribe's residents, until the situation stabilized. It is precisely for such actions that we are needed. But in order to continue supporting the members of the Jahalin tribe, we need funds and volunteers, so that we can assist in the areas of humanitarian aid, employment, women's empowerment, health, and more.
