Four of the poorest families in Khan need help. The boards are rotten and there is no way to buy tarpaulins or plastic, water is entering the tents and the cold is penetrating everywhere. The families are warming themselves with a campfire, but even the boards are very expensive and running out. Children in our neighborhood should not be sleeping in freezing puddles. In order to help the four families who lack the means to get through the storms and ensure that their homes are dry, we set up a fundraiser to finance the purchase of equipment to seal the buildings from the rain and wind and wood for heating. 52 people donated 10,000 NIS in just a few days! Part of the amount was dedicated to buying tarpaulins as first aid for the leaky houses and to repairing the electrical panel of the Khan's school, which was damaged by the storm and rain, so that the children could return to school. The rest of the money was saved and distributed to seal the huts of additional families in coordination with the community leader. In addition to the amount raised, we were able to collect many donations of blankets, shoes, diapers, and other sealing equipment - with the help of volunteers, we transported the equipment to the families and helped them rebuild their homes.
