This week our volunteers organized and delivered "hard" food packages to 22 needy families in 7 different Jahalin communities. The families were selected by the tribal members, with each family receiving food based on the number of people in it.
Let us take this opportunity to recall the difficult economic situation in which the Jahalin community has been for decades, with a complete violation of basic human rights, dozens of families living below the poverty line and dependent on external support to survive with dignity. We, the friends of the Jahalin, are here to help our friends and neighbors in Khan, but we are aware that only a solution that provides the opportunity for local economic development, job creation, and equal rights will put an end to the severe poverty.
We thank McDonald's for donating the money to buy the food, and we also thank everyone who participated in planning, packing, loading, transporting, and delivering the food parcels to each of the families. It is always encouraging to see the renewed connection between our activists and the Jahalin community!
